Teach a country how to make cars and you risk losing your auto industry?

There is no doubt that PLM processes and systems facilitate cross border cooperation between manufacturers and second tier suppliers.

Is it fair to say that unsound and short-term thinking is leading to the demise of our own manufacturing base?

Of course it is unreasonable to blame the tools, but to what extent do we continue exporting jobs without replacing the productive element with something equally or more productive?

The ultimate risk of short term profitability is a knock-on effect where we just stop being viable producers.

A country cannot survive long without it actually producing something.
What are the alternatives?

I think chinese is quite

I think chinese is quite difficult and it's a good idea to start to learn it soon...

 

Out of jokes, I think that automation and the focus on services can be a key point in the future.
